General evaluation process in the call for thematic research proposals
Proposals are formally checked by the NRDI Office, while content-wise they are evaluated and ranked by scientific review panels.

During their work, the review panels always ask for opinions of additional anonymous, external (domestic and/or foreign) experts. Based on the suggestions of the members of the review panel, these external experts are usually invited by the Chair of the review panel. The review panel finalizes the ranking of the proposals based on the opinions of the external experts and of the members of the review panel by secret ballot.

Based on the evaluation results and ranking, the review panels forward the list of proposals recommended for funding to the President of the NRDI Office. The final decision for funding is made by the President of the NRDI Office.

Applicants can look into their proposal’s evaluation after the decision.
