The parties carried on negotiations about the practical implementation of the MoU during the meeting. Endre Spaller vice president of the National Research, Development and Innovation Office (NRDIO) responsible for external relations and Petr Baltrukovich deputy chairman of the State Committee for Science and Technology (SCST) of the Republic of Belarus summed up the science, technology and innovation (STI) policy of the two countries and had discussions on the forms and specific areas of bilateral cooperation outlined during the preliminary consultations.
Parties agreed upon announcing a joint call for proposals in 2017 both in Hungary and Belarus in the specific domains of energy research, renewable energies; agricultural sciences, food industry; medicine and medical technologies, bio-technologies and pharmacy; chemical technologies, nano- and new materials.
Following the professional evaluation of the submitted proposals, a STI Joint Committee set up by the representatives of the parties will make the decision on the mobility projects for joint funding.
According to the program offered to the Belorussian delegation, they visited the central offices of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences (HAS) and its Research Center for Natural Sciences (RCNS), the Technical University of Technology and Economics (BME) and the Bonn Hungary Electronics (BHE) Ltd. where they had discussions on possible future cooperation in the field of mutually interested specific domains.
