Dr. Szalay Zsolt - Innovációs Tanács, tagMr. Zsolt SZALAY, Ph.D. graduated as M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering at the Budapest University of Technology in 1995, then in 1997 received M.Sc. degree in Business Administration at the Budapest University of Economics. Received Ph.D. degree in 2002 and became member of the Hungarian Academy of Engineering in 2009.

Started as a software development engineer at Knorr-Bremse, was later promoted to software project leader of the fourth generation EBS system development in Hungary. As a founder of Inventure Automotive he played a major role in product development reaching satisfied customers over 70 countries in the world. Since 2005 he holds lectures at the Department of Automotive Technologies at the Budapest University of Technology and Economics and since 2015 acts as the head of department. Leading the RECAR program (REsearch Center for Autonomous Road vehicles), his main fields of research interest are the testing and validation processes of CAV technologies and automotive cybersecurity. Head of Research&Innovation for ZalaZONE, the new Hungarian Automotive Proving Ground, focusing on the testing and validation of connected, automated and electrified vehicles. Represents Hungary in the EU GEAR2030 and STRIA initiatives for connected and automated vehicle technology deployment.
