Main research areas:

  • New antibiotics and alternative therapies
  • mRNA-based vaccination methods
  • Rare hereditary diseases

Aims of laboratory research:

  • Development of a qualitatively new antibiotic against bacterial MRSA infections.
  • A Hungarian-developed phage engineering method against Gram-negative superbacteria, the most dangerous in our country.
  • Establishment of the first laboratory in Hungary for mRNA-based protein production and the development of mRNA vaccination procedures.
  • Development of an experimental vaccine against African Swine Fever Virus (ASFV).
  • Expanding mRNA-based protein production for domestic basic and applied research applications through new collaborative partners.
  • The first laboratory for drug repurposing in Hungary.
  • International scientific publications describing the pathomechanisms and therapeutic solutions for rare diseases.

The expected use of the results of laboratory research:

  • Conduct international publications and patents describing technological and pharmaceutical developments.
  • Launch industrial and applied research applications with industrial partners.
