The information site of the Smart Specialisation Strategy (S3) has been launched
In July 2021, the Government adopted Hungary’s Smart Specialisation Strategy (S3), which sets out the main development directions for the 2021-2027 programming period. Fast Track programme reopens with a HUF 8 billion budget
Last year’s call for proposals that encouraged the production of new products and processes with high added value from the knowledge and intellectual property of Hungarian universities and businesses is now available again, announced Tamás Schanda. The Deputy Minister of the Ministry for Innovation and Technology (ITM) added that the second round of the Fast Track programme, which was successfully launched last year, will encourage the practical application of Hungarian ideas with a budget of more than two and a half times the amount of the previous year.

HUF1.7 billion for the international promotion of domestic research results
“For the first time this year, the Ministry for Innovation and Technology (ITM) has awarded grants to 434 researchers and research centres in the Science Patronage call. With a significantly increased budget compared to the original plans, the new funding scheme will help internationalise the Hungarian research community, enabling the presentation and promotion of scientific results,” announced Tamás Schanda, Deputy Minister of ITM.

ITM State Secretary: Record levels of resources used in domestic R&D
Budapest, Wednesday, 10 November 2021 (MTI) – R&D expenditure as a share of GDP in Hungary rose to a high of 1.61% in 2020, the highest level since 1990. The amount of funds used last year was more than two and a half times the 2009 amount, at around HUF 771 billion. The amount of state budget expenditure has essentially doubled since 2010, reaching HUF 251 billion last year,” said Tamás Schanda, Parliamentary and Strategic State Secretary of the Ministry for Innovation and Technology (ITM).
