Second H2020 monitoring report – from the intellectual property aspect
Although many of the projects have not yet produced large numbers of publications and patents as they are still in their very early phases, as preliminary findings, the report shows that there are 1760 publications in peer-reviewed journals, 109 patent applications and 29 awarded patents, which can be attributed to Horizon 2020 so far.

Increasing emphasis on European initiatives to promote research excellence
At its 'Spreading Excellence and Crossing the Innovation Divide' conference on 23 November, the European Commission presented an overview of the schemes to support countries of lower performance in research and innovation, in terms of their research excellence. Beside the significance of such funds the Committee’s commitment towards this matter is indicated also by the complex system of actions that ranges from financing new knowledge centres to facilitating structural reforms in these countries..

River Danube today is the symbol of regional cooperation
Countries of the EU Strategy for the Danube Region (EUSDR) met for the fifth time since 2011: invited under the presidency of Slovakia, more than 700 professionals gathered to discuss the reinforcement of environmental efforts, knowledge-based society and competitiveness. Hungarian applicants can take part in ERA-NET E-Rare-3 to research rare diseases
Preliminary information is communicated on the ERA_NET E-Rare-3 joint call foreseen to open on 5 December 2016. The aim of the E-Rare calls is to enable scientists in European countries to build an effective collaboration on a common interdisciplinary research project in rare diseases, based on complementarities and sharing of expertise, with a clear translational research approach, and also to realize the objectives of the International Rare Diseases Research Consortium (IRDiRC).
