A decision has been adopted on providing domestic funding to projects implemented in the framework of international science and technology (S&T) cooperation calls.

The scholarship programme aim to support the training of the next generations of Hungarian researchers and creative artists, helping them to start and stay on a research and artistic career, and to support the work of outstanding young researchers and artists.

The purpose of the HIGHLIGHT subprogram is to support domestic research groups with constant excellent achievements in the international community of science that already secured substantial competitive funding for their operation, typically having been built up through a single large-scale scheme, and whose excellent achievements can be sustained through this call, inter alia by enabling the provision of researcher succession necessary for the group’s operation.

The objectives of the call for proposals announced under the National Research, Development and Innovation Fund are to support the incubation of clinical technological, procedural, care-coordination and related inventions, solutions, marketable best practices and ideas that go beyond traditional patient care in hospitals and other healthcare institutions and service providers. In cooperation with hospitals and other healthcare service providers, incubators are tasked with advancing solutions to the prototype stage or to market entry, as well as to the point of securing the substantial additional capital investment required to reach the scale-up phase. The ultimate objectives include improving the standard, efficiency and quality of healthcare services, thereby increasing patient satisfaction, to which solutions optimising hospital and other care delivery operations and processes also contribute.

The purpose of the international cooperation subprograms (ANN_26, SNN_26) is to stimulate cooperation between domestic and international collaboration partners, thus strengthening the international embeddedness of Hungarian science.

The purpose of the ADVANCED subprogram is to support experienced and excellent researchers with an independent research group and outstanding publication activity, being internationally acknowledged experts in their scientific field; the basic research project implements a timely, novel, and relevant research plan and significantly develops the research team, including the strengthening of research capacity through the integration of PhD students and postdoctoral researchers.

The purpose of the STARTING subprogram is to support outstanding early-career researchers with postdoctoral experience in acquiring independent project leadership experience as they move into the next stage of their research careers. This will enable them to build their own research groups around promising research topics, while also involving early-stage researchers working towards a PhD degree in the research.

The purpose of the EXCELLENCE subprogram is to provide an opportunity to develop successful participation in the funding programs launched by the European Research Council (ERC) for researchers who have demonstrated their standing with a high-quality proposal submitted in an earlier ERC call.^[1]

Building on the results achieved within the National Laboratories Programme and the Thematic Excellence Programme, the call entitled Further Development of Mission-Driven National Laboratories, launched under the National Research, Development and Innovation Fund, aims to support the development of science-based innovations that address major challenges facing society, economy, and environment, while also facilitating the practical and market-oriented exploitation of research results.

A decision has been made on the applications submitted between 4 July 2025 and 25 July 2025 for the call for proposals entitled “Fast Track” with the code number 2025-1.1.2-GYORSÍTÓSÁV. 52 funding request received for the call 2025-1.1.2-GYORSÍTÓSÁV amounts to HUF 15,374,376,970.
