The call for project proposals, funded from the National Research, Development and Innovation Fund aims to provide funding for projects in international cooperation between Hungarian and Israeli research institutions, which, in line with the focus areas of the John von Neumann Programme enable the strengthening of research and development in the fields of economy and society, the utilisation of Hungarian and foreign research results and foster the development of the innovation infrastructure and related services.

The aim of the Call is to provide a predictable source of funding for promoting innovation in the Hungarian economy, facilitate marketable R&D projects, enable the utilisation of domestic and foreign research results and foster the development of the innovation infrastructure and related services.

52 project proposals for a pre-qualifying opinion were submitted by the deadline to the call for proposals 2023.1.1.2-GYORSÍTÓSÁV. Based on the decision of the President of the NRDI Office, 22 project proposals for a pre-qualifying opinion were granted a positive pre-qualifying opinion.”

A decision has been adopted on providing domestic funding to projects implemented in the framework of international science and technology (S&T) cooperation calls.

The Research Grant Hungary (RGH_24) is a new funding scheme that provides priority support for up to five years to outstanding researchers in the most dynamic creative phase, at the forefront of international science, who are foreign nationals or live and work abroad, and who, as leaders in their field, contribute to Hungary’s development as a regional hub of research, development and innovation by implementing promising research projects. A further objective is to integrate researchers at the forefront of international science in the innovation focal areas defined in the John von Neumann Programme into the innovation ecosystem in Hungary, with the aim of achieving measurable world-class research over the period of the call for proposals. Projects must be implemented in a Hungarian host institution with a compulsory university affiliation.
