On 4 May 2021, a new Territorial Innovation Platform (TIP) was established in Eger.

Eszterházy Károly University is an independent, multi-campus university in the North Hungary region, a leading and dynamically developing higher education institution in Hungary. The university provides modern and practice-oriented education in the fields of agriculture and economics.

The university aims to become a leading knowledge centre in the region, with a Research and Development Centre that represents high quality in applied sciences and provides high quality services to its associated companies.

The Research and Development Centre is an organisational unit that integrates the scientific research units of the university in different disciplines and fields of research and development, and coordinates scientific research activities.

The Research and Development Centre includes the following knowledge centres:

The INNORÉGIO Knowledge Centre is an entrepreneur-minded higher education institution that provides market-based delivery of unique know-how to economic partners. Research and development objectives will focus on the implementation of agroecological and geoinformatics projects, in particular in the interpretation and processing of aerial and surface survey data and related methodological developments.

The Food and Wine Knowledge Centre aims to carry out innovative research and development based on the scientific foundations of various disciplines and technologies related to food and wine sciences (analytical chemistry, molecular biology, microbiology, instrumentation and food safety) and to develop knowledge transfer processes with stakeholders from related sectors. As a key research base, it helps its partners to exploit their R&D potential, develop their innovation capacity and indirectly strengthen their economic potential through available research capacity and knowledge transfer.

The Centre for Health Promotion and Sport Science is an interdisciplinary research unit of the university engaged in human life sciences. Its main tasks are the transfer and dissemination of information for the preservation, restoration and development of human health, and research into physiological changes resulting from physical training, and into the prevention, treatment and rehabilitation of sports injuries. Using the research results in the region’s institutions and departments, the aim is to develop innovative partnerships with sports organisations and municipalities.

Eszterházy Károly University welcomes applications from national and regional organisations and businesses who would like to establish closer ties with the university and with other innovation-performing organisations in the region within the framework of the TIP. There is no fee to join the Territorial Innovation Platform. Please, send the completed and duly signed Declaration of Accession to tip@uni-eszterhazy.hu.
