Chile offers the following competition opportunities to Hungarian and foreign researchers.
1. Startup Chile - http://startupchile.org/
Start-Up Chile is a program created by the Chilean Government, executed by Corfo (http://www.corfo.cl/) via InnovaChile, that seeks to attract early stage, high-potential entrepreneurs to bootstrap their startups in Chile, using it as a platform to go global. The end goal of the accelerator program is to convert Chile into the definitive innovation and entrepreneurial hub of Latin America; this is a mission shared by the Government of Chile and is a primary focus of the Ministry of Economy. The program provides every researcher with US$40,000 of equity-free seed capital, and a temporary 1-year visa to develop their projects for six months, along with access to the most potent social and capital networks in the country.
Having a big interest world wide, the program has attracted not only international but Hungarian enterprises as well.
2. Global Connection - http://www.corfo.cl/
CORFO is a public-sector organization dedicated to promoting entrepreneurship, innovation and growth in Chile, using tools and instruments compatible with the central framework of a social market economy, creating the conditions necessary to build a society of opportunity. The program is currently cooperating with several European countries such as Spain or Holland. Unfortunately, Hungary has not made yet the contact with Global Connection.
3. ContactCHILE - http://contactprochile.cl/index/
ContactChile is a similar program inside of ProChile, that focuses on entrepreneurs and smaller Chilean companies who want to work with higher levels of innovation, with the aim of exporting services, products, and business models.
4. Centre of Excellence and Competitiveness - http://www.english.corfo.cl/
The purpose of this program is to support the establishment of International R&D Centers of Excellence in Chile that will carry out Research and Development (R&D), technology transfer and commercialization activities, in fields at the technological cutting edge, with high national and international economic impact, and that strengthen national R&D capabilities.
The application is done through the Chilean embassy who will be responsible for forwarding the project proposals to the correct institution for evaluation.
