Hungary - Ecuador Joint Committee Meeting in Budapest

On June 07, 2012 the delegations of SENESCYT of the Republic of Ecuador and the National Innovation Office held the First Joint Committee Meeting in Budapest with a view to promoting cooperation between the two countries in the field of science and technology pursuant to the notes exchanged on November 16, 2009 between the National Office for Research and Technology and of the SENESCYT of the Republic of Ecuador concerning cooperation in the field of science and technology.
The Ecuadorian delegation was led by Dr. Jose Augusto Rosero, Adviser to the National Secretary of Planning and Development and the Hungarian delegation was led by Dr. Ildikó Kovács, Director-General, Head of the Department for International Affairs, National Innovation Office (NIH).After the opening remarks by the co-chairpersons of the two delegations the invited scientists and professors held presentations in the following order:
- Dr. Csaba Kis-Szántai Vichem Chemie Research Ltd, pharmaceutical research
- Péter Varga Organica Ltd, wastewater treatment
- Prof. Dr. Miklós Zrínyi Semmelweis University, nanotechnology
- Prof. Dr. Bence Á. Palotás Miskolc University, materials science
- István Slezsák Bay Zoltán Nonprofit Ltd. for applied Research, nanomaterials
- Dr. Zsuzsanna Papp Research Institute for Fisheries, Aquaculture and Irrigation, Szarvas, fishfarming
- László Dvorszki Budapest University of Technology and Economics, possible areas for future cooperation
During his visit in Hungary Dr. Rosero met the representatives of the Foreign Ministry and took a journey to Telki to see the wastewater plant of Organica Ltd. He also met scientists at Miskolc University and Budapest University of Technology and Economics.
