Hungary hosts the ITU Telecom World 2015 Conference

The International Telecommunication Union (ITU) organizes every year the Telecom World Conference and for 2015 Hungary has been selected as host country. The event will take place in Budapest from 12 to 15 October.

ITU Telecom World 2015ITU is a global forum of international cooperation and the most important global institution of the United Nations in the field of information and communication technologies (ICT). The organization, to be 150 years old this year, has 193 member states, with Hungary being one of its founding members.

The ITU Telecom World is a global platform that brings together the main ICT developers, ministers of ICT and any related sector, regulatory authorities, small and medium businesses, Industry CEOs and investors, emerging start-ups, and the local and international media to accelerate ICT innovations, sharing knowledge and making meaningful connections.

There are a lot of possibilities for exhibitors from nations, companies and organizations around the world. The event offers an outstanding opportunity for emerging markets to be visible and perceptible. The best professionals discuss the latest ICT features and developments. The small and medium enterprises (SMEs) – that are inevitable in the sector - can get a unique chance to present and promote their products and innovations to the whole world. The event also designed to facilitate networking at the highest level, including UN special agencies, regulatory authorities and high-level industrial executives.

The ITU Telecom World 2014 event was held in Doha from 7 to 10 of December 2014, where it was announced by Qatar on 9 December 2014, that the Telecom World 2015 event was awarded to Hungary.

Being a European host, Budapest – located at the hub of central Europe - is particularly attractive for the European countries. The Hungarian capital became a real metropolis in the recent years with highly developed infrastructure, worldwide acknowledged services and famous hospitality.
