The Hungarian Government agreed on the adoption of the National Smart Specialisation Strategy (S3) and the Research Infrastructures in Hungary documents (Government Decision 1640/2014). The preparation of a smart specialisation strategy is a precondition to receiving the 2.3 bn EUR financial support for research, development and innovation from the European Union. This budget is almost twice the amount that was available in the previous programming period (2007-2013).
