The same website offers full information about RDI competitions funded from national and EU sources and RDI programmes to be applied for directly at the European Commission. Searchable databases advise on funded projects. Promising projects and exemplary results are showcased with focus on their economic and social benefits. A complex information base of the policy-making activities of the NRDI Office.

“In the last three years the system of RDI resources has been renewed, from which more than 4000 projects of Hungarian enterprises and researchers won over HUF 600 (EUR 19.5 billion) in funding. The system of public competitions remains the tool of strengthening the competitiveness of Hungarian research, development and innovation. The transparent system of competitions and evaluations rests on the core principle that the applicants can rely on a readily available, user-friendly and complete knowledge and information base about funded projects and open calls – József Pálinkás, President of NRDI Office said to expert testers when presenting the policy aspects behind the NRDI Office renewing website.

 

The nkfih.gov.hu website:  
  • A structure, expediently designed based on expert analysis, with a separate competition portal for the applicants, and another dedicated section for general information on the policy-making and other activities of the Office. Thus, a clearly separated website section serves to provide information and administration of competitions and evaluation, and another one informs about the policy-making activity of the Office.
  • A one-stop-shop for the applicants to find current competition calls where all the related documents can be downloaded. A detailed competition search engine is available on the website, which ensures access to quick and targeted information about the publicly funded RDI schemes, with customized search filters.
  • A comprehensive description of the Office’s scope of activity in policy and science diplomacy, with a wider outlook to RDI related news. Research and innovation news as well as policy facts and figures and presentations can be browsed on the Office pages and also in the press room.
  • What are the most excellent Hungarian researchers and innovators capable of? Results of funded projects are tangibly presented by the heroes of research, development and innovation, highlighted to the website visitors on our main page.
  • What are the RDI resources spent for? Funded projects are readily available to know through a dedicated search engine.
  • What kind of policy workshops give the basis of creating the RDI completion system? Which political-strategical directions are considered while desining the schemes of competition? How are the applications evaluated and the results monitored? The menu structure offers information about the science organising and policy responsibilities and administration of the entire research funding system.
  • What events and platforms help further information? A comprehensive calendar of national and EU events.
  • The NRDI Office website was renewed upon an in-depth analysis of the websites of three predecessor organisations, international benchmarking of the portals of large funding agencies and a detailed survey of user preferences of the applicants. Analysis and graphic design were supplied by Melkweg Digital Ltd., the web development is made by Webra International Ltd.
