Juan Manuel Valle Pereña, managing director of the Mexican Agency for International Development Cooperation (AMEXCID) and József Pálinkás, president of the National Research, Development and Innovation Office (NRDIO) discussed the institutional framework for scientific and technological (S&T) cooperation between Mexico and Hungary.

In addition to the growing interest of researchers on both sides, the 2nd Hungary-Latin America Forum, to be held in October 2015 will provide an excellent opportunity to discuss the next Mexican-Hungarian joint call for proposals. As a result to the ongoing cooperation, future projects in the fields of biotechnology, agriculture, medicinal science and water management are expected to be successful from a market oriented perspective as well.

Hungary has a science and technology (S&T) inter-governmental cooperation agreement with Mexico since 1992. Within the frame of this agreement, the last call for proposals was launched in 2013, from which the five winning projects were in the fields of automobile industry, engineering, mathematics, physics and geophysics research.
