European Campus officially opened

The Universities of Basel, Freiburg (member of LERU), Upper Alsace, Strasbourg (member of LERU) and the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology have taken a big step toward creating the first European university: On Wednesday, 11 May 2016, they opened “Eucor – The European Campus” with a ceremony at the Palais universitaire in Strasbourg, thus giving themselves the possibility to act as a single entity.

Fifteen years of work for credible scientific advice

The European Academies Science Advisory Council (EASAC) celebrated its 15th anniversary on 11 and 12 May, 2016 in Oslo, Norway. Leading scientists attending the event from all over Europe discussed social issues, such as the sustainability of seas, virus research experiments and energy storage, from a scientific perspective.
