The call Funding to SMEs and large companies for RDI activities (2018-1.1.2-KFI) announced by the NRDI Office this January invited domestic SMEs and large companies to apply independently or in consortium for HUF 100 to 600 million in funding for their RDI activities to reach at least the prototype or MVP (minimum viable product) phase. Applicants from Budapest and the Pest county submitted 212 proposals with funding requests totalling at HUF 59 billion.
The programme aims to support projects that fit in with one of the sectoral priorities identified in the National Smart Specialisation Strategy.
Following to the funding of HUF 10 billion (EUR 31 million) under the call announced for micro and small enterprises (2018-1.1.1-MKI), now further 66 SMEs and large companies receive non-refundable funding of HUF 18.1 billion in total from the NRDI Fund. This sum enables a number of promising projects to be implemented including a special navigation solution for electric vehicles, a unique technology to cultivate micro algae, prototypes of 5G mobile phone antenna, a drone-supervised and automated system for quality assurance and building industry, a quantitative image reconstruction process based on artificial intelligence, or a tissue removing ultrasonic medical instrument.
