The European Commission has published its work programme setting out the key initiatives for the year 2017.
Innovation-related priorities range from creating the right climate for innovation in Europe and supporting the research and market uptake of technological innovation needed for energy efficiency and renewables to simplifying VAT for smaller companies and proposing the creation of a European Defence Fund to promote research and innovation in defence technologies.
