The 12th edition of the European Inventor Award will be held on 15 June 2017 at the Arsenale di Venezia in Venice, Italy.

The award is presented in five categories: industry, SMEs, research, non-European countries, lifetime achievement. The selection process relies on the evaluation of the technological originality and also on the economic and social impact.
