An innovation day with university-industry networking was organised at the University of Pécs (PTE) on 25 March. Featuring more than twenty technologies from ten universities and research institutes, the event aimed to strengthen networking in support of the university-based innovation ecosystem, to encourage the exchange of experience between the actors involved, to create market-based partnerships and to showcase innovative student projects responding to business needs.
The event was opened by Dr. Péter Kristóf, Director of IT and Innovation, PTE and Dr. Attila Felinger, Vice-Rector for Science and Innovation, PTE.
Afterwards, Vice President Katalin Sebők gave a presentation on the directions of building the innovation ecosystem, the purpose and priorities of the Smart Specialisation Strategy and the Territorial Innovation Platforms (TIP). The latter topic included a presentation on the current TIP network of more than 550 members and the future development directions of the system, with a planned application model, e-learning trainings, thematic workshops, innovation advisory services and events as focal points.
In the second half of the day, participants could learn about innovations introduced by universities and research institutes in healthcare, self-driving cars and food, as well as about the activities of accelerators, investors and companies.
