Signing Ceremony between National Innovation Office and the Korea Institute of Industrial Technology of the Republic of Korea

On the 27th of January, 2014, during the inaugural meeting of the Hungary – ROK joint economic committee in Budapest, Mr. László Korányi, Vice President for International Relations of the National Innovation Office signed a Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation with his partner, Mr. Young Soo Lee, the president of the Korean Institute of the Industrial Technology KITECH.

First Monday, February

First Monday is the monthly gathering of the Budapest startup community, organised by the European Entrepreneurship Foundation.Participants of the EEF accelerator course started the movement, 3 years ago. Horizon 2020: EP approves package by a crushing majority

A large majority of MEPs today adopted the Horizon 2020 package in the European Parliament’s plenary session in Strasbourg. The package includes Maria da Graça Carvalho’s Report on the Specific Programme implementing Horizon 2020 and Christian Ehler’s Report on the rules for participation and dissemination in Horizon 2020.

8th session of the Hungarian-Indian Science & Technology (S&T) Committee held in New Delhi

Representatives of the National Innovation Office (NIH) and its Indian partner, the Department of Science & Technology (DST, operating under the supervision of the Ministry of S&T) held the 8th session of the Joint S&T Committee in New Delhi, on October 14th, 2013. The meeting directly preceded the 3rd session of the Joint Economic Committee (held in New Delhi, on October 15th, 2013), as well as Mr. Viktor Orbán, Prime Minister’s official visit to India.

Commission launches new innovation indicator

Sweden, Germany, Ireland and Luxembourg are the EU Member States getting the most out of innovation, according to a new indicator proposed by the European Commission. The "Indicator of Innovation Output" measures the extent to which ideas from innovative sectors are able to reach the market, providing better jobs and making Europe more competitive. The indicator was developed at the request of EU leaders to benchmark national innovation policies, and shows that significant differences remain between EU countries.

25th EU Contest for Young Scientists - Prague, Czech Republic, 20-25 September 2013

The 25th edition of the European Union Contest for Young Scientists (EUCYS) will take place in Prague Incheba Expo. For a quarter of a century, the contest has been bringing together the brightest young minds in European science highlighting the importance of innovation and research for future generations. This year, 85 projects from 37 countries and the European Union schools will compete.

Consultation of the Vietnamese Ministry of Science and Technology at the National Innovation Office

Between August 28 and September 2, 2013, a Vietnamese delegation from the Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST) negotiated international relations, in Budapest. The current S&T cooperation agreement between Hungary and Vietnam was signed in 2005. The National Innovation Office in Hungary, and the Ministry of Science and Technology in Vietnam are the bodies in charge for the implementation of the intergovernmental agreement.
