NRDI Office: Interest in the New National Excellence Programme remains unbroken
Budapest, 16 November 2021, Tuesday (MTI) There is unbroken interest in the New National Excellence Programme (ÚNKP), which had 2061 scholarship holders in the 2019/2020 academic year, the Vice President of the National Research, Development and Innovation (NRDI) Office said at a background meeting in Budapest on Monday.

ITM State Secretary: Record levels of resources used in domestic R&D
Budapest, Wednesday, 10 November 2021 (MTI) – R&D expenditure as a share of GDP in Hungary rose to a high of 1.61% in 2020, the highest level since 1990. The amount of funds used last year was more than two and a half times the 2009 amount, at around HUF 771 billion. The amount of state budget expenditure has essentially doubled since 2010, reaching HUF 251 billion last year,” said Tamás Schanda, Parliamentary and Strategic State Secretary of the Ministry for Innovation and Technology (ITM).

Further HUF 35 billion funding available for innovation by Hungarian companies

In the new round of the extremely popular funding scheme, HUF 35 billion in funding is available from today, announced Tamás Schanda. Start of the academic year: popular university innovation courses continue
The Ministry for Innovation and Technology (ITM) promotes the training of innovation professionals and young entrepreneurs through higher education courses. The Hungarian Startup University Programme (HSUP), the first national university training programme on startups, was already chosen by nearly 2100 students in its debut year. So far, nearly one hundred students have graduated from the two research and innovation management programmes at Corvinus University of Budapest and University of Pannonia with a degree that is highly valued in the labour market. From September, both courses will be launched again, with HSUP now available at 26 universities.

The New National Excellence Programme has already supported more than 10,000 talented young people
Nearly HUF 4 billion will be awarded to around 2,000 winners in the 2021 calls of the New National Excellence Programme. The HCEMM research community has grown to nearly 100 members
Budapest, 6 August 2021 -Two more research groups have started their work in the Hungarian Centre of Excellence for Molecular Medicine (HCEMM), a translational medicine-focused research centre initiated by the Ministry for Innovation and Technology and established by a number of professional partners, which now has nearly 100 scientists working in 16 different fields of life sciences. Csaba Bödör, a molecular biologist who has just joined the HCEMM, specialises in genetic research on haematopoietic tumours, while Nikolett Wohner, senior research fellow focuses on the background of blood clot formation and haemophilia-related diseases.
