Since 2002, the European Strategy Forum on Research Infrastructures (ESFRI Forum) has been coordinating a strategy-driven approach and policy-making on pan-European research infrastructures, supporting and incubating multilateral initiatives, facilitating the development and better use of research infrastructures and ensuring the monitoring of the implementation of ongoing ESFRI projects.
In the context of the planned 2026 update of the current ‘ESFRI Roadmap 2021’, the ESFRI Forum has launched a call for proposals for new international research infrastructures (IRIs) from the European research community. In line with the update of the ESFRI Roadmap, the National Research, Development and Innovation Office (NRDI Office) seeks to map which new and existing large European Research Infrastructures (ERI) are in demand from the Hungarian research communities to participate in and join, and in which cases the research community has already taken active steps in this direction.
The NRDI Office, as the government body responsible for representing ESFRI infrastructures and providing membership fees since 2015, will continue to support the participation of the country in the projects and landmarks identified in the ESFRI Roadmap and in new initiatives and provide the required government endorsement.
This questionnaire is intended to assess the intentions of Hungarian institutions and research communities to join the ESFRI Roadmap 2021 and the research infrastructures in preparation for the Roadmap 2026. The proposals submitted will be assessed in consultation with the National Research Infrastructure Committee.
In view of the foregoing, if your institution or the national research community wishes to join a new, emerging or existing ESFRI research infrastructure, please submit your answers to the questionnaire available at the link below. Please submit your proposal to join a particular IRI in a coordinated way on behalf of the research community concerned, through the lead institution.
