Tamás Schanda: Further substantial support for science. Researchers have access tonearly HUF 13 billion
Researchers can apply for nearly HUF 13 billion in total in a new funding programme of the National Research, Development and Innovation Office – Tamás Schanda announced. The deputy minister of the Ministry for Innovation and Technology also revealed that getting money for basic research projects will require less administrative and bureaucratic work.

ELI online international symposium on the Hungarian Science Festival

Hungarian-Chinese call for proposals with a budget of HUF 200 million is open to promote joint research and development projects

The joint call for proposals of the National Research, Development and Innovation Office (NRDI Office) and its Chinese partner, the Ministry for Science and Technology (MOST) announced with the policy support of the Ministry for Innovation and Technology is designed to promote research and development cooperation under a bilateral science and technology (S&T) agreement of a total budget of HUF 200 million. The call is open to project proposals until 12 February 2021. The focus areas are public health, physics and artificial intelligence.

Further HUF 20 billion funding available for innovation by Hungarian companies
Job creation and boosting the competitiveness of Hungary are also served by the PIACI KFI funding scheme (support for market-driven RDI projects) under which applicants may now apply for further HUF 20 billion funding, announced Tamás Schanda. The Deputy Minister and Strategic State Secretary of the Ministry for Innovation and Technology added: this funding is available to businesses, as well as research and knowledge dissemination organisations for developing new products, services and technologies having an export potential.

International cooperation against COVID-19 on Israel's initiative

Changes in the 2018 and 2019 calls for proposals supporting bilateral S&T cooperation
Travel restrictions imposed due to the coronavirus pandemic significantly affect the implementation of projects funded under the bilateral science and technology (S&T) cooperation calls.
