The aim of the call financed from the National Research, Development and Innovation Fund is to provide the national contribution to Hungarian organisations successfully participating in the joint international ERA-NET COFUND and European Joint Programme COFUND (EJP COFUND) co-funded by the EU under its H2020 framework programme for research and innovation, in collaboration with the NRDI Office.

The “Frontline – Research Excellence Programme” provides substantial grant for up to five years to excellent researchers in their most dynamic and creative career phases, belonging to the top of the international scientific community, for research activity in a Hungarian research centre.

Drawing on international examples, the call for proposals aims to promote the involvement of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in tackling research and innovation issues arising at large companies but not related to their core activities, thus strengthening cooperation and knowledge transfer between them, as well as enhancing the competitiveness of the Hungarian SME sector.

The call financed from the National Research, Development and Innovation Fund supports long-term sustainable collaborative business-academic partnerships that boost Hungary’s competitiveness. The aim is to create market demand-based RDI hubs in higher education institutions which provide a modern research background to their business partners for the successful implementation of innovation and development objectives. The funding programme provides market-oriented, competitive sources to higher education institutions and enables active and continuous cooperation with the business partners, thus ensuring a sustainable economic model even after project closure.

Financed from the National Research, Development and Innovation Fund, this call for proposals aims to provide summer internship opportunities at domestic businesses for talented Hungarian university students studying in the United Kingdom enabling them to participate in the given business’ research, development and innovation activities. This way the students can use the theoretical knowledge acquired during their university studies, learn how a Hungarian businesses work and contribute to their success with their ideas. They can also meet further opportunities offered by the domestic labour market.

Announced from the National Research, Development and Innovation Fund by the NRDI Office, this call aims to support Hungarian researchers to avail research and measurement services offered by international research infrastructures (RIs), particularly those in which Hungary holds full-fledged membership.

The call is aimed to foster Hungarian participation in the Horizon 2020 framework programme and other joint programmes (ECSEL, AAL, EUROSTARS, ERA-NET) of the European Union, and to strengthen the networking and fundraising ability of Hungarian applicants. The above objectives are supported from the NRDI Fund.

The call supports the preparation of the feasibility study, including a business plan, required for participation in the European Innovation Council Accelerator call (previously SME instrument) under Horizon Europe, the European Union’s innovation framework programme.

Published from the National Research, Development and Innovation Fund, the call aims to support the preparation of Austrian-Hungarian bilateral projects related to testing of autonomous vehicles by promoting the cooperation of Austrian and Hungarian test tracks, unfolding synergies among ongoing developments and strengthening R&D and innovation potentials in the region, in order to increase road safety and inter-connectivity of transnational transport systems. Collaborations funded under this call contribute to the preparation of future joint projects of trans-border nature to foster the development of methods and technologies, which could not be realised on such scale at national level using separate test tracks.

The new call of the National Research, Development and Innovation Office aims to facilitate the development and effective operation of a results-oriented innovation ecosystem at universities. The commercialisation of the R&D achievements of higher education institutions and an entrepreneurial approach developed in teachers, researchers and students are enabled by the management of technology transfer and innovation at institutional level.
