Secretary General Beibut B. Atamkulov, Ministry of industry and new technologies of the Republic of Kazahstan has paid an official visit to our Office on the 16th July. He was accompanied by His Excellency Nurbakh Rustemov, ambassador of the Republic of Kazahstan to Hungary. The guests were received on behalf of our Office by Vice President for International and Domestic Affairs László Korányi.

The European Commission at the Guide to Research and Innovation Strategies for Smart Specialisation (RIS3) international conference in Hungary – Press Release
June 27, 2013, Budapest – On June 24th and 25th 2013, the European Union’s “Smart Specialization Strategy” international conference was held in Budapest, Hungary. The event was hosted by the National Innovation Office, and along with the European Commission, 20 other countries were represented.

Acting President of the National Innovation Office (NIO) receives Science & Technology Commission of Shanghai Municipality delegation
László Korányi, Acting President of the National Innovation Office (NIO) received the four-person delegation of the Science & Technology Commission of Shanghai Municipality (STCSM) at his Office on June 3, 2013. The Chinese delegation paid a visit to Hungary before leaving to the Czech Republic and Romania. The aim of the present visit was to deepen existing inter-institutional relations.

CEU Business School and National Innovation Office Establish Strategic Cooperation
In a significant step towards its goal of advancing innovation and entrepreneurship in Hungary, CEU Business School signed a cooperation agreement with the National Innovation Office of the Hungarian Government in late February. The National Innovation Office is the governmental body responsible for research, development and technological innovation. It operates under the direction of the Minister for National Economy.

László Korányi: the new president of the Hungarian CERN committee
The Hungarian CERN Committee (HCC) held a meeting on the 13th of March 2013 with its new president, László Korányi. The HCC discussed and decided about the Hungarian standpoint which should be represented at next week’s CERN Financial Committee and Council meeting, listened to a presentation about the current situation of the CERN@Wigner project which is under construction at the Hungarian Academy of Science’s (MTA) Wigner Physics Research Centre, and came to an agreement on a CERN particle physics scholarship.

Signing of the 2013- 2014 Cooperation programme of the Hungarian- Flemish Economic Joint Committee
On behalf of the National Innovation Office (NIH), senior counsellor Zoltán Fodor participated at the bi-annual meeting of the Hungarian-Flemish Economic Joint Committee organised in Brussels on the 21th February 2013. Our Flemish partner during the discussions was Mr. Philip Van Avermaet, Head of Division for research of the Flemish Department of Economy Science and Innovation.
