A decision has been adopted regarding the call of the Government Guarantee Fund with code 2026-1.2.1-KÖA, in the 1st round.
Announced from the National Development, Research and Innovation Fund, this call serves to support Hungarian participation in the EUREKA programme, which promotes international R&D cooperation between businesses, especially small and medium-sized enterprises.
Announced from the National Research, Development and Innovation Fund, the Government Guarantee Fund aims to support higher education institutions and other legal entities maintained by public interest asset management foundations established under Act IX of 2021, to participate as consortium partners in the implementation of projects awarded under the Horizon Europe research and innovation framework programme, the Erasmus+ Programme and other RDI-relevant or educational programmes directly or indirectly funded by the EU, by providing Hungarian funding (guarantee) to substitute their funding from the European calls.
The budget of the call with code 2026-1.2.1-KÖA serves to provide funding also for proposals submitted to the 2026-1.2.1-KÖA application portal between 10 September 2025 and 20 March 2026, those being in accordance with the document titled “Guidelines for the purpose of applications for and utilisation of public funding to be provided for the model-changed higher education institutions and other legal entities excluded from European funds under the Council Implementing Decision (EU) 2022/2506 of 15 December 2022” but have not yet received a funding decision.
Between 10 September 2025 and 20 March 2026, 19 applications were submitted to the call of the Government Guarantee Fund, with funding request of HUF 1,014,937,714 in total. The President of the NRDI Office proposed 19 applications for funding to the Funder.
In accordance with the Funder's decision, 19 projects receive total of HUF 1,014,937,714 in non-refundable funding from the NRDI Fund.
