The priority project of the National Research, Development and Innovation Office has kicked off. The GINOP PLUSZ-2.1.2-22 -2024-00002 project “Building a research, development and innovation ecosystem by providing targeted research, development and innovation services and by managing the Entrepreneurial Discovery Process” aims to strengthen performance and competitiveness, support knowledge sharing among economic partner organisations and create an accessible knowledge base in both domestic and international contexts.

The priority project is supported by the Hungarian State and co-financed by the European Union.
Its total budget is HUF 5 billion.
The EU funding amounts to HUF 5 billion.
The EU funding rate is 100%.
Project duration: 11 September 2024 – 30 June 2029.

In this context, the aim is to develop and introduce innovation services and measures that will enable more domestic enterprises to engage in research and development activities, innovate their business practices, and expand their network of domestic and international contacts and knowledge base.

  • Direct target groups of the priority project:
  • businesses already innovating in their operations;
  • businesses that become innovative as a result of the project; and
  • start-up or early-stage micro, small and medium-sized enterprises.

The project contributes to this by providing project development and information services, professional support, and by assessing organisations and institutions (public research infrastructures) suitable for research. It also invites business and research stakeholders to innovation roadshows and professional forums across the country.

The project supports the international market entry of innovative enterprises, the preparation of international R&D cooperation and the exploitation of the results.

As a result, micro, small and medium-sized enterprises are expected to launch and implement more R&D projects, the relationship between companies and the research sector will be strengthened, and new national and international collaborations and partnerships will be established.

The priority project is strategically linked to the National Smart Specialisation Strategy (S3) 2021-2027 and the National Research, Development and Innovation Strategy 2021-2030.

The project is being implemented under the Széchenyi Plan Plus Programme with non-reimbursable EU funding of HUF 5 billion.

The project is supported by National Research, Development and Innovation Office and the National Innovation Agency. Scheduled completion date: 30 June 2029.
