Closely linked to national defence, the CDP-NDS aims to expand the pool of employees working in the RDI segment who are ready to enrich their professional knowledge with the latest scientific research findings and committed to making use of their expertise to the benefit of society and economy.

The CDP-NDS offers funding to those who, in addition to their doctoral studies, carry out research outside higher education on a national defence topic that promotes the practical application of their scientific results.

A total of 36 applications were received by the end of the call for proposals. Following the formal assessment of the applications received, 26 applications were reviewed by anonymous experts.

As a result of the professional review of the applications received, 20 applicants from 7 higher education institutions will be awarded scholarship, based on the recommendation of the Defence Innovation Board and the Cooperative Doctoral Panel, and the approval of the Ministry for Innovation and Technology. Thus, the total amount of scholarship awarded is HUF 858,600,000, which includes the funding provided for the grant holder, the supervisor, the expert and the doctoral school concerned.
