Consultation starts to establish the new research infrastructure tender

The Ministry for National Economy launches a consultation to establish tenders for the development of research infrastructure. The professional work is coordinated by the National Innovation Office. The aim of the consultation is the development of the Hungarian research infrastructure and to make it competitive by using the resources of the EU Structural Fund and of the National Research and Innovation Fund. The work starts in August 2012 and the discussion paper will be ready by 15 November 2012 supported by the NEKIFUT project.

The Ministry for National Economy (MNE) and the National Innovation Office take the establishment of the conditions needed for successful research activities as a priority task. One essential part of it is the firm development of research infrastructure which increases the chance to gain international and EU funds.

The discussion paper which will be drawn up by The MNE – according to the results of the NEKIFUT project – is going to analyse the national research infrastructure’s status and makes a proposal to the wording of the highlighted goals of its development and also recommends actions supporting the Hungarian researchers access to foreign research infrastructures.

The MNE takes that tender with at least 15-20 billion HUF in 2013 is justified in the aim of the substantial development of the Hungarian research infrastructure. As the result of the probable developments the national research infrastructure’s level and Hungary’s scientific performance can get closer to EU average.
