Young people may learn what it takes for an enterprise to be competitive

Innovation makes every enterprise more competitive - amongst many other things, this is one of the key messages of the National Research, Development and Innovation Office (NRDIO) at the Young Entrepreneurs’ Week - Career & Business Show. NRDIO provides detailed information on calls for proposals and services to promote innovation, experts might as well provide tailor-made professional guidance on the spot to those interested.

This is the 12th Young Entrepreneurs’ Week, one of the most important events of the new generation of Hungarian economic entrepreneurs, organised between 18 and 22 November by the National Association of Young Entrepreneurs (NAYE). This year, the National Research, Development and Innovation Office (NRDIO) contributes to the series of events in Budapest as a key professional promoter, drawing the attention of young entrepreneurs primarily to the importance of innovation and providing advice to participants.

One of the fundamental pillars of the new strategy adopted by the Government at the beginning of November to promote small- and medium-sized enterprises is the development of innovation capacity. This is promoted by an enterpreneur-friendly regulatory and tax environment, reduced administrative burdens, as well as the development of the business environment and e-government.

The NRDIO as an exhibitor makes efforts at this event to highlight this attitude to entrepreneurs. These factors are of outstanding importance for market success, as innovation may make every enterprise more competitive. Novelty solutions finally shall contribute to the well-being of those living in the country, if they respond to important social or economic challenges.

The Office does not only expect visitors at its own stand, but it also participates in thematic round-table discussions. Dr. Zoltán Birkner, President of NRDIO and Krisztián Kölkedi, adviser to the President responsible for youth innovation and start-up ecosystem at NRDIO shall also deliver a lecture on the significance of innovation in the life of enterprises.

“We would like to promote the idea that the innovative mindset is the best investment for companies” - says Dr. Zoltán Birkner. - Domestic experiences so far show that a Hungarian entrepreneur typically considers innovation when a call for proposals that may provide direct funding is published. I think that innovation provides a real perspective if it is an integral part of public thinking as a general attitude, a change- and solution-oriented philosophy.”

In 2019 at the nationwide event of NAYE, the Budapest University of Technology and Economics is also represented together with well-known companies such as Wizz Air, Mogyi, Béres Gyógyszergyár Plc., OTP Bank, Gundel, Ericsson, Continental, Master Card or EMIKA Zrt. based in Kalocsa, who will also give an account of innovation possibilities and their own experience.

“As has been the practice over the past few years, the leaders of multinational companies will be amongst the speakers, Hungarian brands with centuries-long history will also be represented in experience-based presentations enriched with spectacular show elements. We have invited speakers who - based on their own experience - are in the position to provide extremely useful information to young entrepreneurs” - dr. Patrik Kovács, the founding president of NAYE said.

Last year, the series of events organised by NAYE was attended by nearly ten thousand people. The objective of the programme is to present the life of entrepreneurs and businesses and thereby inspire thousands of young people to start their own enterprises. Participation is free of charge, but conditional upon registration. Young entrepreneurs who are interested in the event are still encouraged to register at the following website: http://fiatalvallalkozokhete.hu/
