Ministry of Culture and Innovation has announced, through the National Research, Development and Innovation Office, an open call for applications under the title Cooperative Doctoral Programme Doctoral Scholarship (hereinafter referred to as the CDP) to be financed from the National Development and Innovation Fund.

Under the call for thematic research projects based on international cooperation, fostering Hungarian research teams’ cooperation with Slovenian partners, by the deadline of 4 May 2023 28 project proposals were submitted with funding request close to HUF 1 billion in total. From research projects based on Hungarian–Slovenian cooperation (SNN_23) evaluated by the NRDIO and the Slovenian Research Agency (ARRS), 7 project proposals won HUF 247 million in total.
This year’s “OTKA” postdoctoral excellence programme (PD_23) granted support to 89 early-stage researchers with doctoral degrees for their wages and research-related costs for a period of three years with a total budget of approximately HUF 2.6 billion.
The call announced separately for researchers who obtained their scientific degrees not more than 12 years earlier (after 1 January 2011) (FK_23) enabled young researchers to team up and launch independent research projects in Hungary. This year 349 project proposals were submitted with a total funding request of HUF 13.96 billion. The call for thematic projects specifically targeted at early-stage researchers (FK_23) supported 87 new projects this year with a total funding of HUF 3.5 billion.
The “OTKA” call for thematic research projects (K_23) was open until 11 May 2023 for promising researcher-initiated basic research projects in any field of science without thematic priorities.
