10 winning applicants have received funding for novelty search, patent acquisition and patent maintenance projects aimed at the protection of intellectual property under industrial property law, and for activities focusing on the evaluation of intellectual property from the National Research, Development and Innovation Fund. In the first round 8 project proposals were submitted with a total funding request of HUF 12 million. The funding request of the winning proposals was HUF 6.7 million of which HUF 5 million was found reasonable by the evaluating expert group. In the second round another 8 proposals were submitted with a total funding request of HUF 13 million. The expert group considered the funding request of the winning proposals suitable for funding with a slight reduction, so the Innovation Board made its recommendations accordingly. In this round the beneficiaries were mainly businesses and private individuals, and only one university.
In the two rounds, which were assessed jointly, 10 projects received altogether around HUF 12.5 million in non-refundable funding that can be spent on the acquisition of national or foreign patents or the evaluation of intellectual property, as follows:
