In the fifth assessment round, between 11 April 2017 and 10 July 2017, 19 proposals were submitted with a total funding request of over HUF 43 million. The project proposals were checked against the formal requirements in line with the call. This was followed by the professional assessment and ranking which in Sub-programme “A” was performed by the designated expert group against the assessment criteria set out in the call and in Sub-programme “B” by an international panel of experts against the international assessment criteria specified in the given programme. On the basis of the assessment and the ranking the Innovation Board made a recommendation for funding which was in accordance with the recommendation of the expert panel (for Sub-programme “A”) and the international panel of experts (for Sub-programme “B”).

Thus, the Innovation Board approved to recommend 5 projects to the President of the NRDI Office for funding, with total amount of HUF 11 million in the following breakdown: HUF 6,803,113 for Sub-programme “A” and HUF 4,550,000 for Sub-programme “B”.
