2022 winners of the “OTKA” young researcher excellence programme (FK_22)
The call announced separately for researchers who obtained their scientific degrees not more than 12 years earlier (after 1 January 2010)(FK_22) enabled young researchers to team up and launch independent research projects in Hungary. This year 400 project proposals were submitted with a total funding request of HUF 14.66 billion. The call for thematic projects specifically targeted at early-stage researchers (FK_22) supported 102 new projects this year with a total funding of HUF 3.7 billion.

Forefront – Research Excellence Programme (KKP_22), funded projects
Ten research team leaders have been awarded a total of HUF 3 billion in funding, HUF 270 to 320 million each, under the Forefront – Research Excellence Programme launched on 1 March 2022, managed by the National Research, Development and Innovation Office. The research funding will enable the applicants to carry out a world-class research project in Hungary over the next five years, which will help it to participate successfully in the European Research Council (ERC) research funding programmes.
