On the morning of Sep.24, 2012, Wu Gang, vice mayor Wu Gang met with the Dr. Mészáros György, the chairman of the Hungarian National Innovation Office and his delegation.

Wu Gang introduced the Chongqing Economic development of science and technology development status to the foreign guests. He pointed out that Hungary is the largest trading partner of Chongqing in Central Europe. After the establishment of Consulate General of Hungary in Chongqing, the two sides continue to strengthen cooperation in environmental protection, education, and science and technology.

Hungary has strong strength of S&T in sewage and waste disposal, energy development and utilization of new energy automobile manufacturing, the promotion of energy-efficient buildings and small medical equipment research and development. Dr. Mészáros György introduced the Hungarian national innovation and Technology Development and expressed to accept Chongqing to be another important partner in China after Shanghai, and his strong desire to conduct in-depth cooperation in science and technology with Chongqing. Wu Gang deeply welcomed and put forward a four-point demand of scientific and technological cooperation:

First, as soon as possible to set up Chongqing - Hungary technological achievements transform office; the two governments jointly promote international scientific and technological cooperation.

Second, to promote the construction of the Chongqing - Hungary technical achievements transform center. Around the key industries and key projects of 121 S&T support demonstration projects to introduce mature technology and talent team to provide services for exchange of Chongqing and Hungary advanced technology.

Third, to build the Chongqing - Hungary joint R&D center. The Hungary National Academy of Sciences, the Chinese national Academy of Sciences Institute, and Chongqing Academy of Sciences Institute collaborate to build a large-scale public R & D platform, in order to introduce Hungarian advanced technology and create the conditions for the secondary development.

Fourth, to build Chongqing-Hungary R & D Fund, providing strong support for R & D cooperation of both scientific and technical personnel.

In a word, the Mayor Wu hopes to act as soon as possible, to promote cooperation with Hungary by the real project of international cooperation in science and technology.
