The diplomat emphasized that the event series offers participating Hungarian companies a number of new business contacts, which he hopes will open doors to the Canadian market, “for which the Embassy will provide all the support.”
Mária Vass-Salazar stressed that as Ambassador of Hungary, her priority is to strengthen Hungarian-Canadian cooperation in the field of innovation and technology. “We are proud that our initiative has opened a Hungarian stand at the Collision 2022 Conference, the world’s most prominent forum for innovative technologies, and that startups can represent Hungary that can also compete successfully in the international arena,” she said.
The ten Hungarian startups were selected in a two-round process, where the assessment panel took into account not only professional qualities and achievements, but also “relevance to the target market” and English language skills, said Krisztián Kölkedi, Deputy CEO of Express Innovation Agency, which organised the selection and participation.
“It is an honour to be co-organiser of such a large-scale forum as Collision,” said Sándor Balla, Managing Director of the HEPA Hungarian Export Development Agency’s Canadian Regional Office. “We are proud that Hungarian startups can showcase themselves among the world’s top companies and have a good chance of breaking into the Canadian market. We will do our utmost to facilitate this through our contacts and colleagues,” he added.
