Policy Dialogue Event

Join us in exploring the potential of Artificial Intelligence for creating social value and energise the dialogue about the role of Youth as Leaders for social change and carriers of the new technological era.

In partnership with a range of business as well as research and innovation partners, through the Stronger Together through Artificial Intelligence for the Common Good we aspire to engage young people in using AI for the common good by building skills, to offer opportunities for sharing and creating innovative ideas and to facilitate dialogue with policy makers for upscaling their potential to influence the future of AI for social action.

Through this policy dialogue, we aim to provide a targeted platform of exchange between Young Leaders and National, European and International Policy makers and researchers on the critical challenges and best practices in promoting Artificial Intelligence for the Common Good.

The panel will be moderated by Dr. John Shawe-Taylor, UNESCO Chair in AI, professor at University College London and Director of the Centre for Computational Statistics and Machine Learning (CSML).
Among the confirmed speakers we are pleased to host:

  • Jack Watson, Head of AI Skills and Workforce Office for AI, Department for Science, Innovation & Technology
  • Jim Dratwa, Ethics in Science and New Technologies, European Commission and Secretary-General of the EC International Dialogue on Ethics and Bioethics
  • Emine Yilmaz, Professor of Computer Science and Alan Turing Fellow, UCL and Amazon Scholar
  • Didem Ün Ateş, Head of Applied Strategy, Data & AI at Microsoft UK

The online and face to face audience will be able to address their questions to panellists and young people will have the opportunity to interact with experts and present the recommendations which have resulted through two focus groups with youth, facilitated by the International Research Centre on Artificial Intelligence under the auspices of the UNESCO (IRCAI)
