Csák JánosH.E. János Csák (Budapest, 1962) graduated from the Karl Marx University of Economic Sciences (currently Corvinus University of Budapest) with a degree in Finance and Sociology in 1987. He had further studies at the Management School of the University of Michigan Business School and at INSEAD.

He was a visiting fellow in political economy and energy security at The Heritage Foundation in Washington DC from 2009 to 2010 and at the Acton Institute in Grand Rapids.

During his career he has served as CEO and board member of several companies in Europe, North America and Australia. He worked among others as finance director at Matáv (1993-2000), president of the MOL Group (1999-2000), president of T-Mobile Hungary (1997-2001), Creditanstalt Investment Bank, Budapest Bank (GE money Bank) independent member of the board of directors at Richter Gedeon Nyrt. (2014-2019), and board member at Falcon Oil and Gas Ltd. and Wildhorse Energy Ltd.

From 2011 to 2014 he served as Hungary’s Ambassador to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.

He founded the Kálmán Széll Foundation, an association of business leaders in 2003.

He is a holder of the Commander’s Cross of the Order of Merit of Hungary, Honorary Citizen of the XX. district of Budapest, holder of the Knight Grand Cross of Merit of the Sacred Military Constantinian Order of Saint George.

He is married to Júlia Márton, they have four children and seven grandchildren.
